Where this tide comes from
Indian Beach has no station of its own, so we use the tide at Coral Bay (NOAA), 7.3 mi away. On the open coast the difference is usually a few minutes and inches; inside estuaries, rivers and enclosed bays it can be much larger. It is a NOAA subordinate station: its times and heights come from the Cape Hatteras Fishing Pier reference station with the official corrections.
