What TidePlanet is
TidePlanet is a free information website, with no sign-up, showing tides, weather, waves, sun and moon, and the best time to fish, go to the beach, dive or surf, for places along the coast.
What happens with your data, and with cookies, is explained in our privacy policy.
Using the site
You can use TidePlanet for free. We offer it as it is, with no guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors, and we may change or remove content when needed.
You may not use the site in ways that harm or overload it, for example by downloading pages in bulk with automated tools.
Intellectual property and data licenses
The design, text, graphics and code of TidePlanet are ours. Please do not copy them without permission. The moon phase illustrations are the exception: you can reuse them under the CC BY 4.0 license, as their download page explains.
The data comes from open sources with their own licenses, such as GeoNames, OpenStreetMap and the Slackwater tide stations. We credit them on our data sources page. If you reuse that data, follow their licenses.
Liability
Tides, sun and moon times and the rest of the data are calculated predictions. They can contain errors, and real conditions change with wind, air pressure and other factors.
They are for fishing and leisure, not for navigation. For navigation, always use the official publications of your hydrographic service. Before you go out, check the actual sea conditions and follow the safety and fishing rules for your area.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damage arising from the use of this data.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, such as those of our data sources. We do not control their content and are not responsible for it.
Applicable law
