Where this tide comes from
Edgartown has no station of its own, so we use the tide at Muskeget Island (NOAA), 11 mi away. On the open coast the difference is usually a few minutes and inches; inside estuaries, rivers and enclosed bays it can be much larger. It is a NOAA subordinate station: its times and heights come from the Boston reference station with the official corrections.

Wind on the coast and offshore
The model doesn't separate offshore wind here: it's the same as on the coast.
Cross-onshore wind. The coast faces south and the wind comes in from the sea at an angle: a bit more surf at the shore and drift along the coast, toward land.

Waves stay much the same all week. The biggest waves arrive on Friday 30: 3.2 ft with a period of 5 s, from the southwest (slight).

There is land ahead (an island, a headland or the far shore) 1.2 mi out. The profile is turned slightly from the coast so it does not run into an island or a headland.
