Where this tide comes from
Santa Rosa Beach has no station of its own, so we use the tide at East Pass (Destin, NOAA), 17 mi away. On the open coast the difference is usually a few minutes and inches; inside estuaries, rivers and enclosed bays it can be much larger. It is a NOAA subordinate station: its times and heights come from the Pensacola reference station with the official corrections.
